Table
Decorations for the Reception
|
- Do NOT Use Live Goldfish in Your Table Settings
- The use of goldfish bowls with live goldfish
in them for table centerpieces is an idea that sounds like a good one until
you think about the welfare of the goldfish. The goldfish bowls are not
good homes for these delicate creatures. There's no circulation,
filtration and not enough room for the fish and often the fish will die before
the ceremony ends. There's nothing sadder than a dead fish in the middle
of the table. Another concern would be what to do with them after the
ceremony.

| |
- Floating candles make lovely glimmering
table centerpieces, especially for evening receptions. Sprinkle the
water with bits of ribbon, glittery confetti, rose petals or just about
anything that fits your theme.
|
- Create a theme for your reception tables
and, instead of just numbering the tables, name them! I was at a
wedding recently that featured concerts and musicals the couple had
attended together while dating. Each table was decorated with a
framed program, ticket stubs and other keepsakes from the event.

| |
- Incorporate fresh rosemary sprigs into the
table decorations.
|
- Use Unity Candles in the Centerpieces
- If you are having a unity candle ceremony you
can extend the idea by ordering extra candles to incorporate into the
centerpieces. Use both the Unity Candle and the matching Bud Vase filled
with some of the same flowers used in the wedding bouquet. Many of the
same designs available on the unity candles are also available on wedding
favors. To make it more special, the candles and favors are
personalized. Individual Candle Favors can be part of each place setting
and the favor can then be taken home by your guest.

- Remember a loved one who has passed away on your
wedding day.
- Many of us have already lost a parent, brother
or sister. On your wedding day it's very appropriate to include your
lost loved ones with a memorial set on a table or pedestal during the ceremony
or in the reception area. It doesn't necessarily have to be a family
member. You can honor the memory of anyone who was very close to you - a
best friend or a mentor - anyone who affected your life and who should be
among the guests on your special day. We have a few items that work
especially well to memorialize your lost loved one. Our
Memorial Candle
allows up to 3 names to be printed on it and so does our
Memorial Bud Vase.
Either one of these items can be grouped along with framed pictures of the
people they memorialize. Speaking of framed pictures, we have a
Design-It-Yourself Photo
Frame that would work wonderfully to personalize as a memorial frame.

Outdoor
Weddings and Receptions
|
- If the wedding and reception is in the
evening and the area where the wedding and reception has a pool, pond or
fountain - protect your guests from mosquitoes while adding warm ambience
to the area with floating citronella water lily candles. We have
them HERE.
