MOBY DICK

The Great White Koi

A white koi against a black liner is absolutely stunning!  Our Moby Dick is large to boot - about 26 inches long.  Moby is a beautiful example of a platinum Ogon.

The broad body, however, suggest that "he" may even be a "she" but I don't know for sure.  I'm not planning to stress any fish by netting it for the sake of finding its sex.  Perhaps when they spawn I'll see whether Moby is being chased or doing the chasing.

Moby is extremely shy and has yet to come near anyone at feeding time, much less eat from the hand.  The thing that makes Moby so unusual is that white koi tend to turn yellow with age and growth.  Moby has kept her brilliant white coloring.
