Fish cannot live very long in a pond that has
no nitrifying cycle in place. The ammonia and nitrites will kill the fish.
The trick is to prevent ammonia and nitrite spikes from occurring by installing
a proper biological filter where good bacteria can thrive and create the
nitrifying cycle.

If you are experiencing problems with ammonia
or nitrite spikes use these products instead of your regular de-chlorinator.
It will remove chlorine and protect the fish from the effects of ammonia up to
2 ppm.

Ultimate is a "full-function" water conditioner that works in
the principle way that Amquel Plus does. It removes ammonia
and chlorine, destroys chloramines, detoxifies nitrite and heavy metals,
boosts alkalinity, replaces skin-slime coat, adds electrolytes, reduces
stress and instantly "ages" water.
Great
for new ponds where biological bacteria have
not been established, for under-filtered ponds where persistent ammonia
and nitrite readings occur and for over-stocked ponds.
Not all test kits will give you proper
readings when Ultimate is used. For accurate test results use
only Kordon or Pond Care by
Aquarium Pharmaceuticals brands of Ammonia and
Nitrite drop test kits.

Ammonia Detoxifier by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals
Detoxifies the effects of
ammonia on pond fish. Also works as a de-chlorinator and removes
chloramines from tap water. Especially
helpful when chloramines have been added to the water supply or during
times when the pond is experiencing ammonia problems.
Note: PondCare's Ammonia Drop
Test will not give accurate readings whenever AmmoLock is used.
If you want accurate readings, use
