EasyPro makes it Easy!
Whether it's for a small pond or a large series of water features you can put together the right lighting for your pond, pool and surrounding landscape right here on this page. In the past, underwater lighting always irritated me. Not only do you have to purchase a light unit you must have a transformer to make it work! Underwater lighting is not cheap and with many of the manufacturers it seemed that one would have to have a separate transformer for every light! That's just not so. With this 12 volt lighting solution I've found that it's easy to mix and match with wattage and style with a single transformer in most cases. Here's how easy it is:
You determine how many of what wattage lights you want in (and around) your pond. Then you choose the size transformer. You have the option of using either a 20-watt, 35-watt or 50-watt lamp in 3 different kinds of light units. A 20 watt bulb is perfect for cozy corners in a small pond while 50 watts will give you quite a blast of light. All of them will work together on the same transformer as long as the transformer will take the total wattage.
The
Popular EPL20 (or L20 for short)
This particular light is the least expensive of the options. When combined with a transformer as a kit you can save a lot of money. This light offers a kit with a 100-watt transformer. That means you can have up to 5 ea. 20-watt lights OR 2 ea. 50 watt lights OR 1 ea 20-watt plus 2 ea 35 watt --- as long as the total wattage of lights you're adding doesn't go over the 100 watts you do not need another transformer!

If all you need is a couple of lights at 50 watts each or less you need not go any further unless you want to add a little camouflage. Here's the same light that is made to look like a rock.

RL20 Rock Light
Disguise your light with a rock face and it will blend into any rocky background. The RL20 Rock Light by EasyPro is the same quality underwater light as the L20 but with a pretty face!
The same rules apply to the rock light that apply to the L20. You can always swap out the bulb to a higher watt (either 35 or 50 watt) to get a brighter light. These are sold individually (without transformers) and can be added to your L20 kit as long as your transformer can fit the extra wattage.

If you want a light that's really bright, the following underwater light is perfect for large water features and, because it can be used inside the pool or pond and outside as well, it's also perfect for highlighting a landscaped area around the pond. Remember - it still uses that same transformer but you are running out of space with the transformer kit above. You would only be able to use it with a single 20-watt underwater light if you use the 100-watt transformer. This particular light gives you the option of it's own transformer kit. It uses the 150-watt transformer so you could install 2 of the 75-watt lights OR 1 ea. 75-watt plus 2 ea. of the 35-watt lights.
There's one more light unit that can be used together with this series. It's the 35-watt Stainless Steel version. It has a 5-year warranty on its housing (the others have a 3-year) and it's heavier duty. It can also use the 20-watt, 35-watt or 50-watt bulbs. It doesn't, however, come with colored lenses nor are they available for purchase. If you prefer a light that's more of an "investment" but do not care for colored lights, this one is an excellent choice.
If the light bases that you selected do not come with the wattage you prefer, you can always purchase replacement bulbs to swap them out. The only one you cannot swap out wattage strengths with is the 75 watt light. Here are the replacement bulbs that fit these light fixtures.
Now that you've chosen your lights -- if you find that the group of lights is more than the 100 or 150-volt transformers in the kits can take there are other transformers with up to 600 watts that will work with this lighting system. They come on automatically at dusk and have different settings available of how long they'll stay on during the night.
