Bottom Drains & Strainers
When using a pump externally on your pond you must have a way to draw the water from the pond. We recommend drawing it from the bottom thus the term "bottom drain". We have a good assortment of drains and strainers that can be installed through the liner or sit on top so that the liner need not be cut.

The use of bottom re-circulation drains
in your pond will help your pond design become more maintenance-free. Bottom
re-circulation drains cannot be used with submersible pumps.

retrofit items to use when switching from a submersible pump to an external in
an existing pond is by attaching a strainer to the end of flex hose.

Custom Strainer Assemblies
Allow us to do the work! In most
applications when you pull water from the pond you need a check valve to prevent
water from flowing back into the pond from the pump when the pump is turned off.
These assemblies are designed to to slip easily onto the end of the most common
sizes of flex hose and already have the check valve attached. All you have
to do is slip it on and tighten down the metal clamp.
